An AI-powered document intelligence tool for a legal services firm — automatically classifying incoming contracts, extracting key clauses, flagging risk areas, and routing documents without manual review.

The Challenge
The firm's team spent 3–4 hours daily manually reading, classifying, and routing incoming contracts. As volume grew, errors crept in and turnaround times slipped. They needed AI embedded in their existing workflow — not a new platform.
Our Solution
Built an AI pipeline using Azure OpenAI (GPT-4o) via LangChain. Documents arrive through the existing upload endpoint; Azure Document Intelligence handles OCR for scanned files. GPT-4o then classifies document type, extracts structured fields (parties, dates, obligations, termination clauses, jurisdiction) into a JSON schema, and assigns a confidence score. Documents below threshold are automatically flagged for human review in a React dashboard. Results write back to MongoDB and trigger the existing routing workflow via a FastAPI webhook. Deployed as an Azure Function — zero new infrastructure.

- 94% classification accuracy on live document corpus in testing
